My friend, I hate to hurt your feelings, but I have been all over this planet and talked to people that would love to do nothing but kill Americans. I have no problems giving up a little (and it is little) piece of freedom to ensure the plane I board is as safe as we can get it. If that means they search a 6 year old then so be it. I'm also fairly certain that the government is not trying to take away our freedoms. We have had our heads stuck in the sand for years over terrorism thinking it would never happen here. Now, it has and at first people were blaming he government for not reacting soon enough... "How could you let this happen to us!" Then they implement some control to plug a rather large hole and the reaction is "you are taking away our freedom!"
You can't have your cake and eat it too. The TSA is not the best solution but it is the only reasonable one at this time. Like I said, quit complaining and come up with a better solution then send it to your congressman otherwise you are just making everyelses lives miserable who have to listen to you whine.

You might well be right, but good luck trying to explain anything novel and technical to the police if it doesn't involve war-driving or hasn't been featured in the tabloids.
With the best will in the world, it may also be hard for them to accept your word for it in this matter without independent certified experts or a pre-existing writeup in their manual.
Wait 10 years, then try again, and you'll have a new generation of young coppers who all played with xbox when they were kids and will understand you perfectly.
The guy working on my case actually understands most of what I am telling him. He knows quite a bit about networking and how a wireless network works. I did have to explain to one officer that an IP address on a wireless network was not a physical location. I think she thought it was an exact location of where a device was located.

Why are Apple on a witch hunt?
Apple should concentrate on fixing their problem instead of finger pointing and deflecting the issue onto other companies. We already know the problem isn't as severe on other devices as the iPhone 4.
The iPhone's antenna issue has been highlighted by other companies in newspaper, online and TV advertisements. Apple is just returning the favor.
I do think the external antenna makes things worse, but the companies Apple is targeting deserve this getting shoved right back in their faces.
PS: Apple has been working on fixing the issue. For starters, you get a free case, or if you're not satisfied you can return the phone for a full refund. Behind the scenes they are definitely trying to fix or minimize the problem as well. I don't know what more you can ask for, really.

The point of this is that Amazon can go to this new company and license Fairplay-compatable DRM. That way they can sell movies/music on their website (Unbox) and sell it with DRM that is iPod/iTV/iTunes Compatible.
This could mean, for example, Napster could be iTunes/iPod compatible.
Or Vongo (unlimited movie downloads $9.95/month) could be iPod compatible.
Personally, I'm not sure how long it will go. Either Apple will shut them down (if legally capable) or simply start licensing Fairplay themselves and cut out the middleman (which could be an inadvertant positive result of this effort)
Napster (and Vongo, never heard of them) couldn't do that. Fairplay doesn't have any time limit. If you buy a song from the iTunes Music Store, it will work forever (or as long as Apple Computer exists). If you have a Napster subscription, and Napster made it possible that you download a song and add the Fairplay DRM to it, then iTunes would play it today and forever.

The ad is just comparing 3G to 3G, so 1x/EDGE doesn't count.
There are 2 gaping holes in this commercial. Looking at the map I'm positive Verizon is counting 1xRTT in their footprint, just like they have stopped giving a breakdown on their coverage map by calling all data access "Broadband". They are also using some weird algorithm for their map as looking at even basic phone coverage 50% or more of upstate NY should be white. Not because Verizon's got a bad network, but because it's wilderness and farm country.

You are simply trying to take away the focus of your own iPhone 4's faults and place everyone's attention on other brands that we do not care about. You admitted you screwed up (congratulations, that is a great first step). Now it is time to take another baby step and fix the problem... your problem... the iPhone 4.

Now I feel really old with all this OS X ten celebrations! Doesn't help that I started with System 6.....
System 7 version for me and my FIRST EVER computer, a Performa 6200CD my friend and I purchased on August 15, 1995 as we were the only two "Thinking Different" in our local CompUSA store at midnight amongst all the exuberant Windows people getting their Windows 95 OS... Then 8.6 with my PowerMac Blue and White G3 tower, then OS X Tiger 10.4 with my FIRST INTEL CHIP IN A MAC EVER, 24" White iMac, and then with my MacBook Air, FIRST LAPTOP EVER, the second gen, with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and iOS 3.2 to 4.3 iPad first gen 3G 64 GB, and maybe iPhone 5, we'll see but definitely looking forward of the further demo of OS X 10.7 Lion... Ah the memories... Thanks again Apple and Happy Birthday, again, OS X. :apple:

You can't charge your batteries that way either, at least nowhere near full. ;)
Regenerative braking is a small supplement at best. Yes, every bit helps, but currently the best diesel cars meet or exceed hybrid fuel economy and their carbon footprint is arguably no worse.
My opinion is that parallel hybrids are a technological dead end in the long term. Series hybrids might be part of the long term plan for stretching our fossil fuels but even those are not a -solution- to the problem. The solution is going to be either (in order of probability) biodiesel, hydrogen-powered cars or full electrics backed by a totally renewable power generation infrastructure.]

This is, by far, one of the most intersting posts I've ever read. Particularly when you discovered they started connecting to your network! Can't wait to hear what happened, as well as who stole the thing.
