Fashion Friday: Hair Accessories

I know Heather just posted this today, but I don't care. Last month Promise posted an awesome DIY Summer Hair Accessory that I thought was super fun. During our week off of work we finally got around to making them. I love the way it turned out. I'm wearing mine today with my fabulous new Caution Tank from the Forever21 giftbag and one of the necklaces I made this week. I'll do another post soon about the three necklaces I made.

This is another hair accessory I made recently. I wore it last Sunday and featured it in my first Wardrobe Wednesday post.

5 Things I Love

1. Bracelets by Amanda Leigh: Amanda makes the cutest bracelets! I have two that she sent me (the last picture). The feather one is a friendship bracelet. She's such a sweetheart. She donates a portion of the sale to American Cancer Society. Go check it out!

2. Nutella: What is there to say about Nutella? It's amazing! I've been putting it on everything! I especially love it on a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel. Sooo good! If you didn't read it before you must go read this song Heather wrote about Nutella. Not only is my sister creative, but she's hilarious!

3. K. Jenny Designs: My BFF Jenny makes gorgeous hair accessories. She has many different designs including zipper flower headbands, button clips and headbands with feathers. They are so fun and go great with anything! Be sure to stop by her store!

4. Formula One Actions: I heard about this from Miss Promise. These Photoshop actions are amazing! As a newbie to PS, I am excited to learn more and get to playing with these awesome actions. Promise has a discount code: PROMISE for $25 off. I wasn't smart when I ordered and didn't use it, but luckily they had a $20 off discount I got instead.

5. Mr. Lovewell: I had been hearing about Mr. Lovewell on MercyMe's twitter, but was totally out of the loop until this past weekend. This is an excerpt about Mr. Lovewell, "And who is Mr. Lovewell? 5 Things I Love

1. Pomelos: These things are sooo good! They're similar to grapefruits, but much larger and sweeter. Some are usually pale green or yellow, while some are pink, as seen in the pictures below.

2. L.A. Ink: Heather and I started watching season 1 on Netflix a week or so ago. I absolutely LOVE this show. I'm so sad that there aren't more seasons to watch on Netflix. Kat VonD is amazing! When she puts her mind to something, nothing will stop her. I find it extremely inspiring that she was only 25 when she opened her own tattoo shop. Beware: watching the show will make you want a million tattoos. Haha.

3. Headbands by Heatherlydee: I've been helping my wonderful sister Heather make these super cute headbands for her Etsy shop. They're so cute and soooo comfy (no head squishing). Go check out her shop and buy one now! I think she might be posting some new ones in the next week or so. Watch out!

4. Victoria Beckham's Glamour March 2010 by Ellen VonUnwerth: What can I say about this? I love it! Victoria is fabulous, as always. I love the colors and light in these images.

5. Epiphanie Bags: I just got my Lola bag in the mail this week and I love it! Not only is it gorgeous, but it's the perfect camera bag with room for everything I need. They put different Epiphanie cards in the pockets, so cute!

A couple weeks ago Heather and I went to Saver's where I found this awesome Polaroid camera for $5. I ending up winning some film for it on ebay. I haven't used it yet, but I'm really excited about it!

Last week Jenny sent me the link for this "From Couch to 5K" training plan. Heather and I went out and got these awesome Reebok ZigTech's. Heather's are blue and mine are pink and purple. I'm in love with them! So far we've completed week one and start week two tomorrow. I'm really excited about it! We still don't have a goal as far as a race goes. There's not a lot of options in the Boise area, the only races I found are kind of expensive to register.

In other news, I'm starting a final project for my Color Theory class soon. It's going to be fashion editoral style, focusing on the Spring 2010 trend of an Americana look. It's a western, rustic, floral, denim-inspired shoot. I went to the Youth Ranch Thrift Store and found a denim dress, denim vest and cowboy boots that I'll be able to use. The cowboy boots were under $7 and I also was lucky enough to find Newlyweds season 1 for $2.50. Awesome!! I'm not the biggest thrifter, but OMG, Boise/Meridian has the BEST thrift stores and SOO many too. I'm really excited about this project. I'll definitely post my final project when I finish so keep checking back in the next month!

Heather has a bunch of cute new things in her Etsy shop! I helped her make 11 new headbands over the weekend. She named all of the headbands and hairbows after women, friends and children who are important to her. Check out the Aimee Headband and the Ryanne Hair Bows!

Last week Heather got a message from the lovely Aimee saying that she featured a headband we sent her on her blog. She's such a sweetheart and the feature totally made my day! Check it out here.
