Do u think if Steve decides to sell his house he can just hit a restore button to clean it up for the new owners? Then, when he moves on to the next one he can just restore from backup and nothing from before is lost!

I spend at least 98% of my time in AT&T 3G coverage areas. While Verizon's coverage map may look impressive with their sea of red, they seem to be forgetting that dirt can't use 3G.

Does anyone know their marketshare in terms of computers in use?
It's not an exact science, but these days you can make a safe assumption that most computers are connected to the internet, so info such as the browser usage on a site like Google can give some indication of number of machines in use

Reminds of an issue many years ago when Apple released the G3 (B&W).
The first batch had a crippled ATA bus due to the wrong chip.
If you bought the same machine, same model number, same specs
a month later you had a different chip and much improved Hard Drive performance.
How could you tell them apart?
You had to search out the chip inside the G3 and find the number on the chip to compare with the newer one.

This is possibly the dumbest thing Apple has ever done.
I can't WAIT to go browsing though this list of stupid banner ads! I wonder if I can collect them all???!!! I LOVE pop up windows in my browser and I've always wanted to be able to view them at anytime, without having to go to annoying websites just to get each one to load. Now I can have a crap ton of banner ads right at my fingertips!!! THANKS APPLE!!!
I hope they release a pro version of this app for the Mac OS!! Maybe they will incorporate a version inside the mail program that allows me to see ads for VIAGRA and STOCK OPPORTUNITIES IN AFRICA in cover flow!!!

I don't see how people condone people asking intrusive questions.
Now provide information on gun safety as part of a package of being information that helps people become responsible parents, but to be perfectly honest, what I own or do not own (as long as it is legal) is no ones business but my own and my families.
Have you had much experience with doctors? I'm guessing that you haven't because medicine is all about asking intrusive questions.
Doctors can't diagnose a problem unless they are able to ask questions. I'm just absolutely astounded at the amount of paranoia when it comes to gun ownership. If it's such a good thing, why can't a doctor ask about it?
I am really, really stunned that there is such a disconnect from reality when it comes to guns. The NRA has done this country an enormous disservice.

The cell phone planes (without tethering) are calculated on a typical single (mobile) device usage - using it for more devices is stealing (you know, you signed the contract with the rules - if you don't like it you shouldn't have signed up)I'm on an unlimited plan, so how do I pay for tethering? I use around 8 GB/month because I stream music, so I can't give up my unlimited. If AT&T offered the option to add a tethering plan, I would take them up on it.

Doesn't the status bar look taller? I remember a thread on here talking about how they overheard engineers discussing iOS 5 and that was one of the things that would be different. It was going to allow for an SBSettings type of thing and maybe a place for notifications to scroll? Anyways, cool. But I think this is fake.

Either almost no one is dropping additional calls because of the antenna, or if the issue is more widespread, it is made up for by antenna performance improvements elsewhere. The net result? Same performance as 3GS which no one complained about.
You can either accept that or accuse AT&T and Apple of faking that 1/100 number, in which case your argument is standing in the tinfoil hat section.

I think this a typical engineer/geek/nerd wet dream. I also think the current iPod is too big for the gym (I use the Nano). Watching TV shows or movies on the iPod doesn't appeal to me. Imagine watch a TV show on a screen a little bit bigger than a business card, fabulous, good times!
An iPod that plays Movies and TV shows on a bigger screen like your TV sounds more plausible. But think how complicated this scenario is. Lets keep it simple, lets watch TV shows on our TV beam via cable/satellite. If you have to make a decision to download TV shows (note the one that you like and ignoring the rest) then download it to your TV then simplicity is lost. The product i.e. video iPod is dead on arrival.

Disagree strongly. There are PLENTY of times when people are doing things that go perfectly with the video iPod (airplane travel, roadtrips, commuting via bus or carpool, just to name a few). Just because it doesn't fit into your lifestyle doesn't mean it won't be the greatest thing since sliced bread to a whole lot of others. When you miss a show you want to see (I still do occassionally, even with a DVR) it is AWESOME to be able to get it quick and easy on iTunes, at a pretty dang good quality.
Also, have you TRIED watching TV on an iPod. Even the current screen at 320x480 looks great with as bright and high resolution (per inch) as they've made the current iPod. If Apple really does go wide screen as so many are hoping, the picture may look nicer than a big screen TV (since any screen gets smaller the further you get from it).

The doctor is not playing politics, hes practicing good preventative medicine.Sorry, during which year of medical school do doctors receive gun safety training? How many hours of coursework on home safety do they complete? The typical MD is no more qualified to discuss these matters than any bozo on the street with more than an ounce of common sense. If they really want to help their patients child-proof their homes effectively, providing a helpful checklist would far more effective than interrogating parents.

The SD slot is huge, it'd make the iPhone "4G" comparable to the Dell Mini 5 or whatever it's called.
The aluminum bezel works for the iPad, and the similar design on the MacBooks. But on the iPhone? Not only would it be uncomfortable to hold for long amounts of time, but the GSM frequencies AT&T uses has a hard time going through simple walls, half the time. How would anyone expect five bars at any given time?
With Verizon, yes, the CDMA does much better at relaying frequencies through objects, but there again, what about current AT&T customers? Do we keep AT&T, get switched over, or does Apple manage the two?

FWIW, what I mean by talking through it is you explaining it to someone else. Not just "why isn't what I want to do working?" but "I think, given these conditions, and this code, I should get this result for these reasons." This way you have to document your assumptions, code, expectations and reasoning.
Often times, just going through that process will lead you to the answer yourself or with a gentle nudge from someone else.
THAT is where links I posted earlier are headed and you refuse obstinately to go.
If you want to take a dump in the pool because "that's the way you like it" that's fine. Don't expect anyone else to like it.
